The paint recycling system relac® has been a milestone in surface technology since 1992.

Highly efficient paint recovery in wet painting

This first truly effective paint recovery system for wet painting has been on the market since 1992 and remains a milestone in surface technology to this day. The reliability and efficiency of this patented system remain unrivalled. An efficiency rating of over 90% drastically reduces paint and solvent consumption. There is no need for expensive disposal of highly toxic hazardous waste. Recycled paint can be reused. What sounds simple is actually a sophisticated design and a masterpiece of mechanical engineering. Simply an original.

Function

An endless special belt is moved past the workpiece via several deflection rollers. This belt completely and continuously collects the overspray. At the rear of the system, deflecting blades gently scrape the collected paint off the belt. As a result, more than 90% of the overspray is recovered directly. The viscosity can be adjusted and volatile paint components can be added during the recovery process.

The recovered material is filtered and mixed with new paint or fed directly back into the coating process. The colour change during the painting process and the cleaning of the belt after the painting process are also automatic. Furthermore, the RELAC® system is integrated into a closed cabin system. Designs with a belt width of up to 2 m and a system height of up to 4 m are technically feasible. A dry separation system cleans the exhaust air in the cabins. Depending on the application, this can be a ULF or edrizzi® system.

Use

RELAC® works with all conventional application methods: manual, robotic or lift application with airless or air mix spraying, atomisation with high-speed rotation systems and electrostatic coating systems. RELAC® recycles all paint and coating materials with the appropriate drip time based on solvents and water-based paints (such as dispersions, 1-component paints, 2-component paints, UV paint systems, enamel paints, stains, waxes, oils, preservatives and adhesives).

Strenghts

The RELAC® paint booth concept amazes almost everyone who sees it in operation for the first time. In particular, its particular strengths are:

  • Efficiency: Over 90% of overspray is recovered directly and can be reused
  • Cost savings: Reduction in paint material usage, solvent consumption and disposal costs
  • Quality improvement: No paint mist, no splashes, improved painting conditions
  • Flexibility: Easy maintenance and operation, fast colour changes and cleaning cycles, perfect ergonomics and work economy, can be connected to any system
